Backporch Orchids
Backporch Orchids
Welcome to my backporch orchid patch. Orchids are not really hard to grow. Except for
fighting off a few squirrels and some curious Carolina Wrens, my orchids do pretty well.
Hawaiian Wedding Song, the cattleya pictured above, is breathtaking in full bloom on a
large plant. My favorites are the dendrobiums because they are easy, repeat bloomers, and
the blooms from these orchids will last for months. Pictured below is another orchid which
also grows in the home environment without a greenhouse. It is a phalaenopsis known as
Hilton Head.
